In the quietness of the evening, a memory of you filled me
I can see you looking at me, asking to whether I’m okay
I can see your stare, pushing me to just keep going
I can see in your eyes, telling me that I can do it
And I can see in your smile, promising me you will be there.
In the orange sunset, every story you used to tell us sent me shivers it makes me just smile
I can hear your voice filled with passion in every word
I can hear from your tone with courage yet there’s that meekness
I can hear you speak with sincerity and wittiness even in sadness of your tale
And I can hear your whisper, with such comfort to keep me calm.
In the stillness of the dusk, I remember your songs that make my heart in joyous rhythm
I can hum the lullaby you used to sing us to fall asleep
I can chant the lyrics of the melody you sung when I was crying
I can whistle the hymns of your happy song to make me laugh
And I can still belt out our duet on my own knowing you’re singing with me.
As the nightfall draws near, I pray you are watching over me
I close my eyes, that I can see you next to me
I close my eyes, that I can hear your voice say a little prayer for me
I close my eyes, that I can listen to your lullaby and sing it with you
And that as morning comes, I wake up with warmth knowing in my heart you never have left.
I love you, Lola Panyang
I will always miss you
