Choices, Chances and Changes

The chill in the air beacons the sunlight to come out from hiding

The fog continues to sleep with unwillingness to rise up

The sky is gray as it shows little sign of light

The neighbourhood is quieter and subtle… a feel of laziness around

There’s a few movement in the streets… as the day unfolds aside.

While this happens outside, inside is warm and cozy

The Christmas tree lights flicker like candlelit crystals

The smell of hot cocoa invites as the music soothes the tranquil soul

The clock ticks the minutes away with every second flying by

The year will soon end as the hour of every hour carries on.

Tracing my footsteps backwards… I looked at yesterday’s episodes

I scanned through coincidences… peeped at my mistakes and misteps

I recalculated my decisions… if they were right or wrong

I glanced at my achievements… I did some impossibilities in my weakness

I peered at my gains… I have noticed old familiar faces yet I have earned a lovely new crowd.

Recollecting my tales and stories, I learned resilience and patience

Reflecting on the challenges I had, I grew stronger and saw a different perspective

Reviewing my year, there were certainties yet I stumbled on uncertains

Remembering my false impressions of others, somehow made me reconsider my own judgement and not of others

Retrieving my individuality, I learned to share my talents and abilities openly.

At this moment, I am waiting for the year to end and the new to come

I am unsure of what is yet to come but I’m sure of what I have become

I take a step forward with a different vision… an unconventional insight

The remnants of bygone… I am taking pride as to how I made it here

I may not know what is coming in 2020… but with unequivocal mindset, I can only hope for better than the best!
