A November Walk

Strolling a familiar roadway – but I don’t know where it goes or where it ends

The crusty leaves floating and encasing the path is unknown

Within me I see reluctance – I feel fear but curiosity is calling

My mind debating – should I take a step forward or turn my back and walk away

Yet my heart motions me to go on – take the risk.

Looking ahead it’s blurry – the fog is covering the way

As I walked I could hear my heart pounding as the haze covers the distance – how far?

I shivered at the thought with hesitation yet my mind motions to move forward

I took my first step – felt like carrying a heavy load

I closed my eyes, took a deep breath – inhaling the fresh air while faintly exhaling the unfamiliar

Each step I regard as a risk – a possibility of something reckless or an opportunity of somewhat valuable

Slowly the fog lifted I can see a sign post – pointing to different routes

A sign to find myself – to rediscover who I am from where I have been

An option to choose where to begin – seek new adventures to gather every pieces

Form a fragment – collide each portion of a mosaic to unfold a reflection – that is ME!
