Twenty Twenty One

We leave 2021 behind some burden and save any lessons learnt

We’ve had our loses that we can’t take back – painful and agonising to even think of

We’ve had gains to carry along – of finding ourselves with a realisation of what we have become

We have recognised our existence – of living not with tangibles but our true possessions.

The clock kept ticking – there’s nothing we could do to turn back time – we’ve gathered regrets

Maybe I should have made more moments – memories to store and save

Memoirs of myself and of others – of those who we’ve met – kept along the way

Stories of our intimate warm times – the ones that we cherish and treasure.

Ten minutes to New Year we start to recollect – the good, the bad even the ugly

Through the mishaps – tears starts to trickle down while our hearts throbbing

Every beat we rethink – every rhythm we relive every minute to feel again

How it made us who we are today – on finding our strengths and discovering courage

Five more minutes we open up and let the tears flow – became a cry of emotions

We weep for our sorrows and we scream for our failures – if only…

Yet through it all we find peace – we submit to it all with admission in surrender

Tomorrow we have gained more chances – possibilities to make choices and create changes

A minute becomes seconds – we reflect and close the chapter of yesterday

We realign the special moments – hold on to it even more – to the smallest detail

We raise our glasses- sing Auld Lang Sign as we hold on to hope with a smile

As the clock strikes to midnight a silent prayer is whispered – tomorrow is going to be a new day, it’s a beginning.
